Types of direct current engines:
- Engine with independent excitation - where the statoric and rotoring windings are connected to two separate power sources
- Engine with parallel excitation - where the statoric and rotoring winding are connected in parallel to the same voltage source
- Engine with serial excitation - where the statoric and rotoric winding are connected in serie
- Engine with mixed excitation - where the statoric winding is divided into two windings, one connected in parallel and thye other one connected in serie
